Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our image tools, privacy practices, and supported formats.
Are my images uploaded to your servers?
No. All image processing happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your images are never sent to or stored on our servers. This ensures complete privacy and security for your files.
Is Image Tools completely free to use?
Yes, all our tools are 100% free. There are no hidden fees, no premium tiers, and no registration required. We support the service through advertising to keep the tools accessible to everyone.
What image formats do you support?
We support PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, and GIF formats across our tools. Our converter can transform between all these formats, and our compression tool works with PNG, JPG, and WebP files.
Is there a file size limit?
While there is no hard file size limit, we recommend keeping individual images under 10MB for the best experience. Larger files may process slower depending on your device's capabilities.
Can I process multiple images at once?
Yes, most of our tools support batch processing. You can select multiple files by clicking the upload button or by dragging and dropping multiple images into the upload area.
What compression quality should I use?
For most web use, we recommend 70-85% quality for a good balance between file size and visual quality. For images with text or graphics, higher quality (85-95%) is recommended. For thumbnails or previews, 60-75% is usually sufficient.
Will compression reduce my image quality?
Lossy compression (JPG, WebP) does reduce quality slightly to achieve smaller file sizes. However, at quality settings above 70%, the difference is usually not noticeable to the human eye. Our tool lets you preview results before downloading.
Why should I convert to WebP?
WebP images are typically 25-35% smaller than JPG and PNG files at the same visual quality. All modern browsers support WebP, making it the ideal format for web use. We recommend using WebP for websites with JPG/PNG fallbacks for older browsers.
Do I need to install any software?
No installation is required. Image Tools works entirely in your web browser on any device — desktop, tablet, or mobile. Simply visit the website and start using the tools immediately.
